Sting's a resounding success in Juan...

The former Police frontman electrified a packed Pinède-Gould with his incomparable voice this Thursday evening. The legend has survived the years and ages without aging.

Suddenly, the lights went out. It was 10:12 p.m. And an irresistible roar filled the crowd. Sting was there. Right there. With his guitar. And his legend. In the Pinède. Suddenly, nothing else mattered. There was no longer any question of wondering if the Englishman in Juan was out of fashion. Or if his music was jazzy enough for the festival.

The audience simply let themselves be lulled by his incomparable voice, which didn't budge an iota. And by "audience," we certainly don't mean the 5,000 people lucky enough to get tickets. Last night, crowds lined the edge of the pine forest to hear 'Fields of Gold', 'Message In A Bottle', and all the other hits by the former Police frontman.

There were people in the trees. On yachts. On the lawn. And on the beaches, perhaps even more crowded than during the day. Yes, Sting is 61. So what? Some say legends never die. Today, we can confirm it.
