Sting, a formidable musician on stage...

He performed 23 songs from his repertoire at the Hard Rock Hotel

The 65-year-old British musician delivered a memorable concert Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, where the quality of his music kept thousands of spectators on their feet.

The Englishman, who returned to the country as part of the world tour for his latest album, 57th & 9th, stirred nostalgia among fans who have enthusiastically followed him since he was the bassist for The Police.

At 9:36 p.m., his four-piece band and three backing vocalists entered the stage, and to the rhythm of the song "Synchronicity," the concert began, making it clear that good music prevails and makes people enjoy it.

This return of the musician, for the third time in the country, was an evening of nostalgia and memories, where the British singer impeccably reviewed the greatest hits of his musical career in the nearly two-hour concert, which have made him one of the most admired artists worldwide and received more than sixteen Grammy Awards.

"Good evening, I feel very honoured to be here again," said the musician in broken Spanish, greeting an audience that packed the hotel's Filmore Ballroom, which never failed to greet him with applause.

The Brit looked energetic behind his bass, and to the great buzz he received, he sang "Spirits," also from his time with The Police. Other hits of his best-known hits followed.

Sting, wearing an olive-coloured T-shirt and tight jeans, continued on stage singing songs like "Englishman in New York," one of his first hits as a solo artist. A part that draws rabid applause is seeing Sting singing a duet with his son Joe Sumner on songs like "Shape of My Heart."

The power of some of the musicians from the band The Last Bandoleros, who had performed impressively before Sting, is also felt on stage. This group then enters and joins Sting's musicians to sing a few songs.

Sting fiercely makes the sound of jazz, reggae, and his ever-present pop rock essence felt on this tour, which has already toured several countries.

He spoke little to the audience, but Sting didn't forget any of his greatest hits, such as Walking on the Moon, Message in a Bottle, or De do do do, which were not left out of this repertoire.

"I Can't Stop Thinking," Magic, One Fine day, She's too good, Hung my head, Fields of good, among others, were also performed by Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as Sting.

He continued with the classics with Desert Rose and Every Breath You Take.

Pavel Núñez sang at eight o'clock at night the songs "Amor y perdón," "Dime si lo ve," "Visa gente," "Al otro lado de la calle," "Paso a paso," and "Te di di," among others.
