Sting in Cluj-Napoca - a perfect concert at the end of the tour...
Sting held his first concert in Cluj-Napoca on October 17. The event was attended by over 10,000 people, who sang alongside the artist, but also with Sting's son, Joe Sumner.
Sting held his last concert of the "57th & 9th" tour on the stage of the Multipurpose Hall in Cluj-Napoca, and the atmosphere was at its peak. The artist was greeted by a hall full of enthusiastic fans, the energy emanating and the perfectly balanced setlist with new songs and hits of the most beloved transforming the concert into an unforgettable experience for 10,000 souls.
Sting's concert in Cluj perfectly concluded a new stage in the artist's musical career, a world tour of almost 9 months, organized to promote his 12th studio album, "57th & 9th".
The evening's musical program began with a short concert by Joe Sumner, the surprise also coming from Sting, who chose to sing the first song with his son. Both greeted the audience in Romanian, even making a few jokes about their linguistic abilities. In fact, the two had a short dialogue, in which Joe Sumner spoke exclusively in Romanian. At the end, Sting retired, leaving the stage at the disposal of his son. Then followed a few songs from his personal repertoire, with Joe demonstrating exceptional vocal qualities, the similarities with his father's timbre being more than obvious.
Sting took the stage around 9 o'clock and gave one of the most beautiful concerts of the tour, as he himself declared at the end of the over 75 minutes spent in front of the Cluj audience. The over 10,000 spectators enjoyed every line, singing in unison hits such as "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You", "Englishman in New York", "Message in a Bottle", "Shape of My Heart", "Fields of Gold", "Every Breath You Take", "Desert Rose", "Roxanne".
Sting returned to the stage twice for an encore, at the end thanking everyone for this show, starting from all the members of his team involved in organizing the tour, to the Romanian audience who transformed this last concert into one of the most beautiful memories.
Sting's concert in Cluj-Napoca was the fourth one held by the artist in Romania. His first concert took place in 2009, at the Palatului Hall. The musician returned to Bucharest in 2011, for a large-scale show in Piața Constituției, two years later, in 2013, performing at Romexpo.
